And if things weren’t already exciting enough, Mrs Reynolds and the Ruffian, which was on at Watford Palace Theatre earlier this year, has been nominated for Best New Play at the TMA Awards.
John Whiting Award →
FREE FOLK, my play for Forest Forge, has been shortlisted for this year’s John Whiting Award. It’s a fairly long shortlist and includes some brilliant pieces, so this is a moment to feel happy about the esteemed company one is keeping, rather than time to start fantasising about how to spend the prize money.

not to sound like too much of a cock in the Guardian. But that “ugly, lovely town” quote is about Swansea, isn’t it?
COMEDY OF ERRORS →
A couple of years ago, the RSC asked me to edit The Comedy of Errors down to seventy-five minutes, so they’d have a snappy version to take to schools. Told By An Idiot put on a brilliant, boisterous production last year, which is now available from Digital Theatre.

I’ve been so busy in the last six weeks I forgot to mention a production of CRAZY GARY’S MOBILE DISCO at the New Wimbledon Studio. Huge apologies to Tom and all at Sheer Drop Theatre Company: they apparently hope to remount the production later this year. And hopefully I will get to see it this time.
